SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

The Personnel Transfer System P19900 consists of 24-foot or 30-foot diesel, inboard/outboard propelled, rigid hulled, inflatable, or V-bottom boats. The rigid hull inflatable offers the safety of an inflatable with the V-hull ride characteristics of a rigid hull boat. The rigid hull and deep V-type boats offer size, excellent speed, and ride characteristics. During large spill operations, skimmers and maintenance vessels can be scattered over very large distances. Supplying crews with meals, parts, water, other necessary items, tending emergencies, and changing out relief crews becomes a very demanding problem on large jobs. These boats augment the inflatable boom tending boats which are generally smaller, slower, and already busy with their boom tending and heavy load missions and are not generally available.

DESCRIPTION

The120-Hp Outboard Motor MT0946 are used to power the 22-foot center console rigid hull boat. The motor has a V-4 cylinder arrangement, power trim, tilt positioning, and Variable Ratio Oiling (VRO) system that mixes the oil with the gasoline as it enters the carburetor. Some outboard motors are not equipped with a VRO system and require a 50-to-1 oil mixture added to the gasoline tank.

DESCRIPTION

The Icom VHF Marine Mobile Radio RA1831 is a marine VHF/FM transceiver with intercom features and a public address system in a moisture-resistant console. The radio requires a supply voltage of 13.8 VDC negative ground and operates in the frequency range of 156-163 MHz. The radio has 58 programmed marine transmit/receiver channels and 10 weather channels.

The radio has the following advanced features: voltage source deviation indicator; 25 W of high transmission output power; dual watch and a variety of scans; 20 user-programmed memory channels; momentary high power on channels 13 and 67; single-tone, double high-tone, and double low-tone beeps; high sensitivity and strong intermodulation rejection; and a built-in lithium battery to retain the information programmed into the memory channels. The life of the lithium battery is approximately 5 years. The Icom radio model IC-M56 is currently being replaced with the IC-M58 model. The system may contain either model and instruction manual. Both models have similar features, except that the IC-M58 model contains an emergency channel 9.
